Cleanliness is next to Godliness (+the inside)

Do you know that feeling of how you don’t really get to know a new home until you’ve deep cleaned her? Well, Sabática and I are getting intimate today. Today is Cleaning Day. Our first big one since we’ve moved aboard. Conor gets the outside, and I get the inside.

One huge advantage to downsizing is that there is much less to clean. Yay! The downside to having a beautiful white boat (outside and in) is that it always looks dirty. Every breadcrumb on the counter can be annoying. (If you like things clean, like I do.) Every footprint outside can break your heart. And beds. They are the worst. Imagine a wall-to-wall mattress with only one side free. I’m thinking it feels a bit like wrestling a giant sloth in the Amazon (because remember the heat), and it’s definitely a two person job. Actually, Conor gets the brunt of that job, and I do lots of giggling.

With all things clean and tidy, though, I can finally take some indoor photos. Take a peek!

  1. I love all of the interior pics! Love the blue cushions and full size fridge/freezer wow!!! I hear you on making the bed. It’s a tight squeeze with the sheets. We’ve tried flat and fitted…fitted works better on our boat beds because once you get the top done and wiggle/tuck to the bottom end you can kind of pull it tight.  I spoke with Ivanka and they are not going to Krk this year, haven’t been since 2019, guessing covid related. What a bummer, their lovely home has steps that go down the hillside right into the Adriatic, it’s wonderful. Keep the pics coming! I think you set sail next week? Can’t wait to follow along!!! Cheers,Diane
