2023 – What’s Next?

As I sit here on the eve on the new year, I’m thinking of how grateful I am for all the good and amazing things of 2022 and thinking of the year ahead. Everyone keeps asking us “What’s next?” Great question. At this point, we still have no set end date and are continuing to reevaluate after each unique chunk of time. 

What we do know:

– Sabática is booked in to Licata through the end of April should we want to stay that long.

– We loved our summer 2022 and will plan a new cruising adventure for summer 2023.

– Conor will still be working with Plenty for the next few months.

– I will be doubling down on my online coursework for the next couple of months.

What we are contemplating:

– Some additional land travel – We certainly have more of Sicily to explore and it’s an easy enough hop to other places around continental Europe. I’m hoping we’ll see some in the next few months! (In particular, Paris, Prague and Budapest.)

– Some upgrades to Sabática – Conor is studying up on various potential upgrades for our second season. The goals are to anchor out more as opposed to stay in marinas as often, and to actually use the sails more. For you techies out there, I’ll elaborate once the upgrades become reality. 😉

– New destinations – We are thinking we’d like to cruise to Malta, Greece, Turkey and possibly Sardinia / western Italy this year. It’s a matter of studying routes and optimizing around weather and wind. (But you knew that, right?) Skippy is on the case.

– Another winter – If this winter goes well, we’d aim to spend a second winter somewhere. Maybe Turkey?
