For another day trip, we visited the beautiful white village of Ronda. Also a little over an hour from Antequera, this other mountaintop town is known for its dramatic views. There is a huge gorge (El Tajo) that separates the old town from the new, and its famous bridge (Puente Nuevo) was built in 1751 to connect the two. From the bridge you will find amazing views of the gorge, homes built into the cliffside, and the green fields and mountains that surround the area.
One of Ronda’s top sites is its bullring (Plaza de Toros). Being built in the late 18th century, it is the oldest and one of the grandest in all of Spain. Today, the bullring is mostly a museum and only sees one bullfight a year in September.
Ronda also offers beautiful palaces, squares, winding old streets, and historic Arab baths to see. The day we visited, we were simply in the mood to relax with casual strolls to enjoy the amazing views and sunset. Certainly a beautiful locale to take in if you find yourself visiting the region of Andalucía!

Just in case you missed it…

Glad you made it to Ronda. One of our favorite stops in Andalusia.
